Ohio University Libraries held its “Finals by Alden” event from December 4 to December 15 with a variety of activities to help students alleviate some stress and prepare for the end of the semester. Some of the usual entertainment such as the 4H Pet Pals, button making and finals survival kits occurred, as well as a surprise treat of cookies and refreshments from the President’s Office as an extra boost of motivation for students.
There were many opportunities to unwind with University Libraries, so take a look and view some of the moments from the Athens campus below:
Julian Earley, a junior, and Nathan Shields, a senior studying music education, peruse through magazines during the button making event on the fourth floor of Alden Library. Students were able to get crafty and create their own personalized buttons.
University Libraries' staff passes out survival kits to students on the first day of finals week. Things such as coloring pages, fidget toys and snacks were a couple of the items given out.
Students gather to work and study on the third floor of Alden. Many came to the Alden Library to prepare for finals week and utilize the variety of study spots that University Libraries’ offers.

Anya Ramey, a sophomore, Chole Hayes, a sophomore studying biology and Sarah Babbitt, a sophomore studying psychology, pet a dog during the 4H Pet Pals event. The 4H program brought a variety of animals to help students decompress before finals week.
Emma Hudnall, a sophomore studying French and classical civilization, gives pets to Buddy the dog. The 4H Pet Pals event is a popular end of semester event for students to get an extra boost of serotonin from some furry friends.
